MIAMI, Florida — July 17, 2026: Former Spoon Network CEO Stanton Witherspoon has asked a U.S. federal court to push back his surrender date and allow family members to attend his sentencing remotely after his hearing was rescheduled.

In a filing submitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Witherspoon requested that his surrender date be extended from July 14 to July 20, 2026, to align with the new date set for his sentencing.

The motion also asks the court to permit Witherspoon’s family and friends to join the July 20 hearing via Zoom. According to the filing, several of them had already traveled to Florida or were en route before the hearing date was changed and had incurred travel costs.

The filing notes that Witherspoon’s defense attorney, Annabelle Nahra Nadler, is eight months pregnant and currently in the United Kingdom. The court previously granted her request to appear remotely, and the defense is now seeking the same arrangement for Witherspoon’s relatives and supporters.

Prosecutors do not oppose either request, the motion states. It adds that Witherspoon has complied with all conditions of his bond and is not considered a flight risk or a danger to the community.

The defense also disclosed that federal prosecutors have filed a Rule 35 motion, which asks the court to consider a reduction in Witherspoon’s sentence. If granted, the reduction would be determined by the judge at the sentencing hearing on July 20, 2026. The current filing does not change Witherspoon’s conviction or sentence.
