Liberian Man Discovers He’s Not the Father After 11 Years, Demands Answers

Monrovia, Liberia – January 17, 2026

A Liberian man, Varney Adolphus Sirleaf, is demanding answers after DNA tests revealed he is not the biological father of two children he has supported for over a decade. In a viral social media post, Sirleaf publicly accused the mothers of the children of deception, sharing financial records showing he spent more than US$70,000 on their upbringing.

The children ages are between 11 and 6 years old.

The shocking revelation has sparked widespread outrage and sympathy across Liberia’s online community. Many have expressed disbelief at the prolonged deception, with one commenter stating, “It’s a painful situation that many find hard to understand.”

Sirleaf’s post included documented proof of payments for school fees, medical expenses, and other essential needs over the past 11 years. He now seeks accountability from the women involved, questioning how they could conceal the truth for so long.

The case has reignited debates about paternity fraud, with calls for stronger legal protections for men in similar situations. Legal experts in Liberia note that while paternity disputes can be addressed in court, cases like Sirleaf’s highlight emotional and financial burdens that often go unrecognized.
