LTA, Starlink Partner to Bring High-Speed Internet to Liberia’s Public Schools

Monrovia- October 23, 2025:The Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) and Starlink Liberia have signed a landmark agreement to provide 156 Starlink standard kits to public schools across Liberia. This initiative is part of President Boakai’s administration’s efforts to advance digital development nationwide and empower the youth.

Under the partnership, the Ministry of Education will play a vital role in the distribution and installation of the kits. Schools will be assessed to ensure they meet the minimum requirements for installation. This builds on the progress made under the World Bank’s ‘Improving Results In Secondary Education’ (I.R.I.S.E.) Project, which equipped government high schools with sustainable solar power, computers, projectors, and other educational resources.

Students and teachers alike are enthusiastic about the prospects of this development. “This will open doors to a wealth of information and resources, enabling us to access knowledge beyond our textbooks,” said Emmanuel K. Kollie, a high school student. Mrs. Agnes B. Johnson, a teacher, added, “With Starlink, we’ll be able to access a vast array of educational materials, making teaching and learning more engaging and effective.”

The nationwide deployment of Starlink is expected to give Liberia’s future leaders a much-needed boost, equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to compete in an increasingly digital world.
