Monrovia- Oct 4, 2025: The Commercial Court of Liberia has ruled against Era Rural LLC, the company behind Era Supermarket, and its CEO, Robert Abou Jaoude, in a debt dispute with SIB Bank. The court has ordered the seizure and sale of Era’s properties to recover a debt totaling over $1.23 million.
The debt stems from a commercial loan that Era Rural LLC failed to repay, prompting SIB Bank to file a lawsuit. The bank’s General Manager, Patrick Ebo Kittoe, brought the case to court, citing breach of financial obligations by the defendants.

The court’s decision, delivered by Chief Judge Eva Mappy Morgan, paves the way for SIB Bank to recover the debt. The ruling highlights the importance of meeting financial obligations and the consequences of defaulting on loans.
This development may have significant implications for Era Supermarket and its operations. The court’s decision is a reminder of the need for businesses to prioritize their financial responsibilities and maintain healthy relationships with their creditors.
