Monrovia – September 12, 2025: The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has strongly denied rumors of an Ebola outbreak in the country, confirming that there are no suspected or confirmed cases. “All specimens tested at the National Reference Laboratory returned negative results for Ebola and Marburg viruses” NPHIL said in her press statement.
NPHIL assures citizens that the country’s disease surveillance system remains active and vigilant, with nationwide monitoring for potential health threats. The institute urges the public to remain calm and avoid panic, while continuing to observe public health measures.

At the same time, NPHIL said the public is advised to verify reports directly through its offices and contact the emergency hotline at 4455 for suspected cases of infectious diseases. “NPHIL remains committed to responding to health concerns, including Mpox, Lassa fever, and measles” it concluded.
