Monrovia- May 7, 2025: A popular Barcelona fan, known as Prince Gaye and affectionately referred to as DJ Fresh, was at the Signature Bar in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, when he erupted in joy after Barcelona, having been down 2-0 in the first half, managed to level the score in the second half.

Witnesses reported that he enthusiastically jumped and shouted during the celebration, but shortly thereafter, he suddenly fell to the floor and sadly lost his life after collapsing while celebrating during the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan on Tuesday night.

Bystanders quickly took him to the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.

The precise cause of death has not been confirmed, but many speculate it could have been heart failure triggered by the high emotional intensity of the moment.

This incident is reminiscent of a similar occurrence a few years back, when a Chelsea fan reportedly died in comparable circumstances during an intense football match.

Prince Gaye, known fondly as DJ Fresh, was a beloved figure in Zwedru’s entertainment scene, celebrated for his vibrant personality and love for football. His passing has left the community in deep sorrow, with numerous fans, friends, and fellow DJs offering their condolences.

Health officials are once again reminding sports fans to pay attention to their health, especially during highly charged matches.
