Monrovia- April 29, 2025: On Monday, April 28, 2025, Ambassador Mark C. Toner of the United States, stationed near Monrovia, made a courtesy visit to Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, Liberia’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General, at the Ministry’s Central Office located on UN Drive/Sekou Avenue in Mamba Point, Monrovia.
During this meeting, a variety of important topics were discussed, with a particular focus on the advancements concerning the establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court (WECC), the ongoing situation in the House of Representatives, and the developments in the investigation of the Capitol building fire incident that occurred earlier this year.

Ambassador Toner also commended the Ministry of Justice and Joint Security for their professionalism during the recent Nimba County Senatorial By-election.
He reiterated the commitment of the U.S. government to collaborate closely with the Liberian government and its citizens to foster peace, uphold good governance, support democracy, and reinforce the rule of law.
In response, Attorney General Tweh expressed gratitude to the U.S. government for its ongoing dedication and assistance in maintaining peace, rule of law, and good governance in Liberia.
The Attorney General concluded by assuring Ambassador Toner that the Liberian government is committed to taking all lawful measures to ensure that Liberia remains a safe and welcoming environment for all its citizens, international partners, and to protect current and future investment opportunities for the benefit of the population.
