Liberation Movement for Suakoko District criticizes Bong County District #5 Representative over suspension from HoR; accuses him of developmental slow pist.

Gbarnga, Bong County- February 26, 2025: The Liberation Movement for Suakoko District, a political grassroot Organization has criticized Bong County District #5 Representative for absentism from the House of Representatives for three months , citing no impact on legislation and administrative challenges.

Representative Eugene Eugene J. M Kollie

The political grassroot movement attributed Representative Kollie’s suspension to his failure to fulfill legislative duties and responsibilities.

The Liberation Movement for Suakoko District has since blamed Representative Eugene J. M Kollie for developmental slow pist in the time of his suspension further demanding Clarification on District Representation in the 2025 Budget Process.

In a press release issued on February 26,2025 the group highlighted detrimental effects about the lack of advocacy for the district interests in critical national matters.

The group noted that Legislation passed in Representative Kollie’s absence may fail to reflect the needs and concerns of Suakoko, potentially leading to outcomes that do not benefit the district; hinders ongoing projects or initiatives within the district, and could delay or prevent the launch of new ones.
The release is quoting as saying that the district is left without proper representation in the legislature, therefore, citizens interests will not properly be advocated for in legislative discussions and decision-making processes.

The release further gave two weeks ultimatum to the District representative to appear before the citizens of Suakoko at the Suakoko District Youth Center for clarification on his Suspension from the Liberia National Legislature.

A call the group said is not a threat but a sincere request for transparency and accountability in district’s representation.

“It is imperative that he is held accountable to ensure the proper functioning of the national legislature and the well-being of our district.” the release stated.

These points reflect significant failures in Representative Kollie’s political journey especially in his first term in legislative proceeding with growing uncertainty over re-election comes 2029

It can be recalled on November 19,2024 the “Majority bloc” of the House of Representative voted unanimously to suspend seven Representatives including J. Marvin Cole, Dixon Seeboe, Edward P. Flomo, Frank Saah Foko, Eugene J.M Kollie.

Others include: Representative Zinnah Norman, and Alex Sonnyboy Noah were suspended for acts deemed unbecoming of their roles as legislators.

They were suspended for “30 working sessions”, that commenced December 2024 expected to end March 2025.
