Monrovia- February 26, 2025: Eugene Fahngon, the Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), is embroiled in a growing scandal following the release of a video that purportedly shows him pressuring Momoh David to invent claims of torture by Chinese national Michael Shio.

Reports indicate that the alleged scheme received funding from Gao Feng, known as “The Real Minister,” who is said to have bribed Fahngon $300,000 to facilitate this act.

On February 12, 2025, a viral video on Fahngon’s Facebook page reveals him guiding Momoh David on how to address specific charges about his supposed confinement and mistreatment by Shio. Interestingly, it is Fahngon who elaborates on the alleged torture details, while Momoh David only responds with “yes” or “no,” strongly implying that Fahngon constructed the entire torture story.

In the video, Fahngon states: “This actually happened on January 13,” and then questions Momoh David: “So you’ve been in the hospital since January 13?” repeating his claim about the date. This suggests that Momoh David was hospitalized on January 13, 2025.

However, Fahngon contradicts himself later when he again pressures Momoh David, saying: “My understanding is that you spent three (3) days in that compound, is that true?” Momoh David doesn’t respond; instead, his mother answers “yes.” This contradiction raises concerns: If the alleged incident occurred on January 13, 2025, and Momoh David was held for three days, he should have left Shio’s compound by January 16, 2025, rather than being hospitalized since the 13th, as Fahngon asserted.

This statement clashes directly with an official medical report stating that Momoh David was admitted to the hospital at 11:34 PM on January 17, 2025. The inconsistencies within the single video reveal an evident attempt by Fahngon to deceive the public and manipulate the legal system through the fabrication of evidence. This points to a potential conspiracy between Fahngon and Gao Feng (“The Real Minister”) to use Momoh David, a known criminal, to falsely accuse Michael Shio.
