Monrovia- Nobember 27, 2024: Liberia’s Ambassadors Designate to Japan, the Kingdom of Morocco, and Senegal, say they are committed to collaborating with their respective countries of destination to establish partnerships and tackle shared global challenges.
Edward Appleton, the designated Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Liberia to Japan, states that upon receiving confirmation from the Liberian Senate, he aims to enhance diplomatic ties with Japan and pave the way for new opportunities in trade, investment, and cultural exchange in Asia.
Speaking on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, during his confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Committee, led by Senator Abraham Darius Dillion from Monsterrado County, Mr. Appleton pledged to advocate for the nation’s interests. He expressed his commitment to collaborating with Japan and other nations to establish strong partnerships aimed at tackling shared global challenges.
During his confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, Ali Sylla, the Ambassador nominee for Senegal, committed to focusing on efforts that will strengthen Security Cooperation, aid in infrastructure development, and foster economic growth.nfrastructure development and promote growth.

According to the Ambassador designate, when confirmed, he will also ensure that Liberia actively engages in ECOWAS and African Union programs that align with the national Agenda, ARREST for inclusive development.
For his part, Ambassador-designate to Morocco, Joseph Johnson, stated that if approved by the Senate, he intends to collaborate with his Moroccan counterparts to expedite the execution of agreements that will be beneficial to both nations. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that all existing agreements with the Kingdom are upheld and enforced.
