President Joseph Boakai Holds Meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican; Explores Religious and Historical Sites

The meeting took place in the Apostolic Palace, where the two leaders discussed various matters of mutual interest, including the strengthening of Liberia’s ties with the Vatican.

President Boakai was joined by notable figures from his delegation, such as Hon. J. As reported by Sylvester Choloplay, an E-mansion correspondent for Spoon FM, President Boakai conveyed Liberia’s appreciation for the Vatican’s ongoing assistance with peace and development efforts in the nation during a friendly meeting.r the Vatican’s continued support for peace and development initiatives in the country.

He emphasized his administration’s commitment to transforming agriculture and the important part the Vatican can play in promoting increased global collaboration to tackle hunger and poverty.

Meanwhile, His Holiness Pope Francis commended Liberia’s efforts and reiterated the Catholic Church’s commitment to supporting Liberia.

Following the private audience with Pope Francis, President Boakai and his delegation were given a guided tour of some of the Vatican’s most significant religious and historical landmarks.

The tour began at the iconic St. Peter’s Basilica, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture and one of the largest churches in the world.

As the delegation marveled at Michelangelo’s stunning artwork and the basilica’s towering dome, they were reminded of the deep historical connections between faith.

In addition, the delegation explored the Vatican Museums, where they viewed an impressive collection of religious artifacts and ancient relics that document the history of the Church’s role in shaping global civilization.

They also stopped by St. Peter’s Square, where pilgrims from around the world gather for the Pope’s blessings.
