Monrovia- August 13, 2024: Cletus Wotorson, a well-known figure in Liberian politics and a former Senate Pro-Tempore, from Grand Kru County, has unfortunately died at the age of 87. His career was marked not only by his political achievements but also by his academic expertise in Geology.

Throughout his professional life, Wotorson held several significant roles, including serving as the Minister of Lands and Mines, where he contributed to the management of Liberia’s natural resources. Additionally, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), demonstrating his influence in the energy sector. In the presidential elections of 1997, he took a bold step by running as the candidate for the Alliance of Political Parties (LAP-LUP). Despite his efforts, he finished in fourth place, garnering 2.57% of the total votes cast.
