Monrovia, Liberia – The President of the Republic, H.E. Dr. George Manneh Weah has dedicated the newly constructed modern presidential lounge, an annex to the famous Roberts International Airport. He named the state-of-the-art architectural masterpiece after Madam Clara Marie Dekontee Weah, his wife, in recognition of her invaluable contribution to the nation and people.
Speaking Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the dedication program, President Weah said he was filled with gratitude that the project was completed in time to accommodate international dignitaries coming in country for the inaugural ceremony at which time he will be turning over the baton of authority to Amb. Joseph Nyumah Boakai.

President Weah described the VIP Lounge as an extraordinary masterpiece of work that has given the RIA a facelift, adding that the outlook of any international airport stands as the first impression that visitors gather about the host country.
“The airport of any nation is a critical infrastructure a visitor expects of the rest of the country. No wonder why my predecessor, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and my own administration have dedicated more time to improving the RIA over the last few years,” the President indicated.
The Liberian Leader disclosed that constructing the VIP Lounge was borne out of his impression of a similar structure he saw during a state visit to Congo Brazzaville in the early days of his administration.
The Liberian Leader praised his team at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs led by Chief of Protocol Nora Finda Bundoo, who he said worked tirelessly to get the job done.
President Weah later cut the ribbon and then toured the magnificent structure along with officials of his government, including Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Youth and Sports Minister Zoker Wilson, Commerce Minister Marwine Diggs among others.
