Monrovia, Liberian- November 15, 2023: The National Elections Commission chairperson, Madam Davidetta Browne Lasannah has heaped praises on Liberians for maintaining the Country’s fragile peace.
Speaking at the 2023 runoff presidential daily press briefing in Monrovia, NEC’s boss Davidetta Browne Lasannah said Liberians have demonstrated massive peace and unity despite few electoral hullabaloos in other counties.
She added that the just-ended October 10 elections mark Liberia’s four peaceful democratic elections.
Emphasizing peace, the NEC’s boss said that if Liberia is to transcend to another level, is equivalent upon all Liberians to maintain the peaceful co-existence Liberia has gained over the years since the end of the civil war.
Using the 14 years of civil conflicts as a key study madam Lasannah disclosed that it is responsible for Liberia’s developmental deficit.
Meanwhile, Madam Davidetta Browne Lasannah at the same time urged political pundits to disengage from spreading falsehood against NEC and premature Victory as they embark on the tally process to release official reports.

“The same results that you saw at the polling places are the same results that will be tallied and announced by the NEC.”
“Please avoid violence during and after the Runoff Election, we all will live together as Liberians after the election” she asserted.
