Monrovia- October 5, 2023: On yesterday, October 4, 2023, young people of the Revolutionary National Youth League -CDC led by their chairman Emmanuel M. Johnson petitioned the Ministry of Justice, the ECOWAS commission and the U.S. embassy near Monrovia.
Speaking at the various institutions, the chairman of the youth league intimated that the partisans of the CDC are been killed on a daily basis under the instruction of Joseph N. Boakai, the standard bearer of the Unity Party; recounting the gruesome murder of Tamba Momoh and Emmanuel Varkpana who were killed last week by partisans of the Unity Party in Foya, Lofa county, Aloysious Barh killed in Nimba county by supporters of the Vice Standard-bearer of the Unity Party Jeremiah Koung and many other provocations instigated by the Unity Party.

According to the statement the youth league expressed their deepest concern that the Unity Party has spoken loudly and clearly through its Standard Bearer Joseph N. Boakai and former warlords, Yekeh Korlubah ,Prince Johnson ,Joshua Milton Blahyi (General Butt Naked), Senator Darius Dillion and Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence threatening war if the elections does not go their way. He consider their statements as a sharp reminder of Radio Kigali, noting that if the youth league did not have sufficient painful and mournful memories of our their own which involved this very actor.
He said that “the youth league is disappointed with the muted bare minimum response coming from state investigators, civil society actors and the international community most especially the vague and indistinct U.S embassy statement ; to the bloody hands and acts of our political rivals, characterized by a pronounced reluctance to name, shame and publically reprimand the perpetrators, fails to serve as sufficient deterrence as it generates to them the impression either that you condone their actions or do not care anymore about the peace of Liberia.”
The youth league believes that in the midst of this unfortunate tragedy just a few days to national elections, the main perpetrators are still roaming the streets, being welcome into the polite conversation and civilized society in open disregard of their gruesome killing of innocent CDCians.
As part of the petition, the youth league recommended that the Standard Bearer of the Unity Party, Joseph N. Boakai be held responsible for any violence that emanates out of this electoral process, including any potential retaliation to actions that his evil words precipitate and called on the U.S. government to deny U.S entry to all individuals instigating violence including the standard-bearer of the Unity Party Joseph N. Boakai.
The youth league also called on the Joint Security to invite everyone of interest, including the Unity Party candidate Francis S. Nyumali for organizing a group of militias that are terrorizing and killing innocent Liberians in Lofa that supports the CDC.
