Monrovia-April 1,2023: Institute for Research and Democratic Development (IREDD) has released its 2022 legislative monitoring report. In its report, twenty (20) lawmakers failed in all legislative activities which include the number of plenary sittings convened, attendance present times, plenary participation times, etc. Among those who failed or scored F is Representative Yekeh Kolubah of District # 10.

This report presents the Institute for Research and Democratic Development (IREDD) Legislative performance monitoring outcomes for the period covering the sittings of the Liberian Legislature from January 11 to December 8, 2022. The report accounts for the Legislature’s activities recorded by IREDD which among other things include number of plenary’s sittings convened, attendance present times, plenary participation times, etc.

During the period under review, the Liberian Legislature convened 133 sittings of which the Senate convened 67 times while the House of Representatives convened 66 times. Also, IREDD recorded a total of four thousand three hundred thirty-one (4,331) plenary’s attendance times for both houses; of the total present times, the House of Representatives accumulated 2,793 and the Senate 1,538 respectively. At the House of Representatives, only two (2) Representatives scored 90% and above and obtained A while twenty (20) Representatives scored below 50% and obtained F for Poor attendance.

Additionally, the report contains the legislators’ performance on compelling national issues in line with their statutory functions of representation, lawmaking and oversight.

Attendance’s Rating: (0-100%): Where 0-50% is Poor or F, 51-79% Fair or C, 75-89% Good or B and 90% above is Excellence or A. This report emphasizes two (2) performance marks: High and Low where: high performance is A and Poor performance F.
