Montovia- March 17, 2023: The Government of Liberia has begun a robust national engagement gears toward disseminating information to the public about government’s developmental initiatives across the country.
On Thursday, March 16, 2023, a team of government officials from the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) in continuation of its mandate to disseminate the Government’s programs and achievements led an array of officials from the National Road Fund (NRF), National Fisheries Agency (NaaFa), Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) and the Liberia National Police (LNP) to the township of West Point, in a drive to interact and deliver government’s agenda to the people in that part of the country.


At the official launch of the National Outreach Program by the Government, the Deputy Minister for Administration at MICAT, Daniel C. Gayedyu told the audience that the Government of President George M. Weah has carry out many viable developments, and it is necessary that government engage its people on a one – on- one basic in providing them the needed information about what the Government has done.
The deputy Information boss named roads construction, building of modern health facilities, free tuition for Liberian students at Government owns universities and colleges, the connection of new communities to the national power grid amongst others.
Moreover, Hon. Gayedyu stressed that although government has done much development across the country, opposition politicians continue to ply communities spewing falsehood, misinformation and disinformation about the gains made by the Government.
“A whole lot has been done across the country, students are going to public universities free, roads and hospitals have been built, “ Min. Gayedyu said.
He indicated that the National Outreach Program is also designed to attract ordinary people for whom the Pro Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development and Prosperity (PAPD) is designed.
Meanwhile, the first edition of the National Outreach Program provided the platform to Hon. Emma Metieh Glassco of NaaFa, Boniface Satu of NRF, Randall M Dobayou lll of EPA, Adolphus Scott of LEC and the Deputy Police Inspector General for crime services.
The platform provided an opportunity for the officials of government to explain goals obtained by them at their respective agencies as well as answered questions posed by the audience.
