Monrovia- August 12, 2022: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Dee Maxwell Saah-Kemayah has called on the public to give the investigation team investigating Business man Sheik Kante’s diplomatic passport scandal a small time while re-assuring the public of finalizing the ongoing probe by next month.
It can be recalled that in May of this year, President George Weah instructed the Foreign Ministry to investigate claims of one its privilege travel documents.
According to reports, Sheik Basiru Kante, a Liberian Businessman, was reportedly caught and arrested during an FBI search operation enroute into the United States.

At a MICAT’s press conference Thursday, Minister Kemayah said the Ministry has been closely working with relevant authorities in the US to ascertain the true cause of such illegal and unauthorized issuance the diplomatic passport to Mr. Basiru-Kante.
He disclosed that the Ministry is to release reports and finalize investigation next month adding that such was due to the nature and scope of the investigation process.
The Foreign Ministry is however still declaring Mr. Basiru Kante as person of interest to the investigation even though it is yet to establish the charges placed against him.
