Monrovia- August 10, 2022: The Vanguard Student Unification Party-SUP of the University of Liberia has categorically disassociates itself from any violence at AMEU Campus says it is intended to   smear the dignified character of the party by some unscrupulous elements. SUP at the same time, says it remains calmed and very peaceful in pursuing justice for her militants and cadres who  they termed were badly brutalized by thugs on the instructions of President George Weah through the degree fraudster in Jefferson Koijee on July 26, 2022. Information parroting of such nature is not just maliciously unfounded but also a failed attempt by the Weah administration to sway away the attention from the human rights violations saga over the regime, something that is dead upon arrival and SUP buys into it not! SUP calls on the international community to intervene and investigate the violent situation in Sierra Leone that has led to the death of so many people.

Meanwhile, SUP uses this medium to condemn in the robust term the killing of peaceful protesters by the Maada Bio’s government for agitating over the prevailing state of affairs in the country. SUP asks the Bio’s regime to guarantee the constitutional and democratic rights of the people and to stop reverting to dictatorial gimmicks of killing and brutalizing the people of Sierra Leone. President Madda Bio should understand that dictatorship has no space in the contemporary politics of Africa and the world and as such, we frown on his decision to unleash armed men to spatter the blood of innocent citizens.
