Over Increase In Flooding, House Invites EPA & Disaster Management Agency

Capitol Hill, Thursday, July 14, 2022: The Heads of the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Disaster Management Agency are expected to appear before the House of Representatives Plenary Tuesday 19th July to explain the potential cause of the level of flooding and how it can be handled.

According to the House Press & Public Affairs the Plenary of the House, acting on the request of Rep. Dixon Seboe’s (District 16, Montserrado) Communication voted to invite those entities of Government to state reasons behind the intensity of flooding in the past two years and with this year being unprecedented beyond control.

In Hon. Seboe’s Communication, he inserted, considering the devastation that comes with the flood, if a National action plan is not designed and implemented the buck of the Liberian people who live in their communities will continue to face hardship beyond their capacities.

Plenary wants both EPA and the Disaster Response Agency to explain the potential cause of the level of flooding and how it can be handled, and to also explain what is being done to those affected by the flood so far across the Country.
