The Deputy Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry Of Information, Culture Affairs, and Tourism (MICAT), Jarwalah Tonpo has blasted former Public Works Minister and Activist, Koffi Woods over his recent statement that “Liberia is being Sick”.
Deputy Min. Tonpo said Mr. Koffi Woods’s statement is a clear indication of how deceptive and wicked Liberian opposition politicians have become.

Hon. Tonpo made the statement on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the Ministry of Information Culture Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) regularly press briefing on Capitol Hill, Monrovia.
The Deputy MICAT boss said the statement by activist Woods is desperate adding, that it is politically wicked.
He wondered why the religious community and civil society organizations in the Country have not questioned Mr. Woods’ diatribe against the people of Liberia.
Min. Tonpo questioned Woods’ legacy if any, at various government ministries he served as Minister.
Deputy Min. Tonpo said the statement from attorney Woods is intended for showmanship aimed at receiving funds from his donor partners.
The Deputy Information boss who spoke intensely mentioned that the statement is an insult to the general citizenry of Liberia.
“Today Koffi Woods is telling Liberians that we are sick. No, we are not sick,” Min. Tonpo lamented.
He challenged the former minister of the ex–wide Unity Party (UP) Government to show his legacy Liberians benefitted from when in served as Minister of Labor from 2006 to 2009 and Minister of Public Works from 2009 to 2013.
“ The statement by Koffi Woods is a blatant falsehood intended to collect money from his donor,” Min. Tonpo asserted.
Min. Tonpo said Liberia is well and not sick as spewed by Mr. Woods exemplified by various development agreements been signed by the government and donors including the recent US$ 40 million agreement signed by the Government and the World Bank on Tuesday, May 31, 2021, for Liberia Urban Resilience Project (LURP).
The Deputy Information boss then called on Liberians alike not to take seriously Mr. Woods’s false assertion as it is his usual mode to extract money from donors.
