Liberian Women Mass Action Rallies 14 Days Peace Prayer

Monrovia- May 27, 2022: The Liberian Women Mass Action for Peace has been 14-day fast and prayer for peace in Liberia and the Economic Community Of West Africa States (ECOWAS) sub-region.

Ambassador Julie Endee, organizer of the Liberian Mass Action for Peace, under the banner of the WIPNET, said the peace being enjoyed today in Liberia and the sub–region is fragile and there are looming signs of chaos.

Amb. Endee made the remarks on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the newly constructed Invincible Park in Congo Town along the Tubman Boulevard.

She said today there are rumors of war in the sub region particularly referring to the Republic of Guinea while within the borders of Liberia there are early warning signs of chaos.

Amb. Endee maintained the only way to counter or prevent such looming signs, is to firstly consult God for divine intervention.

She stressed that the Liberian Women Mass Action for Peace will also engage with ECOWAS to ensure the maintenance of peace in the sub-region.

Amb. Endee told the women gathered at the Invincible Park that they must speak out about ills in society adding, the Women Mass Action for Peace has served has voice for peace in the sub region.

“We must speak without fear or favor, if we do not speak, our mentors who have predeceased us will not rest in peace in their graves,” Amb. Julie reminded the women.

She used the occasion to thank President Weah for building the Invincible Park and giving a portion to the women of Liberia.

The Women of Liberia under the banner of WIPNET has long gathered at that same location praying for peace for Liberia and the sub – region.

But with the building of the Invincible Park, President Weah give a portion with a building well designed to the women of Liberia to carry out their peace venture.

The program was characterized by the lighting of peace candles and hoisting the flags of the 15 Counties of Liberia including the ECOWAS and Liberia flags.

Several prominent Liberian women including former Foreign Minister Olubanke King Akerele, Counselor Yvette Chesson – Wureh of the Angie Brooks International Center (ABIC), women of the Muslim and Christian communities.
