Monrovia- May 6, 2022: The National Elections Commission (NEC) Chairperson, Davidetta Browne Lassanah’s testimony in the trial involving Alexander B. Cummings, Aloysius Toe and Senator Daniel Naathen of the Alternative National congress (ANC) for allegedly altering the Collaborating Political Parties Framework Document has revealed multiple inconsistencies within the document.
The NEC boss testified on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Monrovia Magisterial Court at the Temple of Justice when she was subpoena by the court to produce the CPP Framework Document and testify to it.

During her testimony, madam Browne Lassanah was not definite in responding to questions posed by the prosecution, but rather answered according to her chosen something that angered the prosecution.
However, it was discovered during trial that the CPP Frame Work Document was submitted to the NEC on July 10, 2020 and received by Tutu Johnson, a staff of the NEC by 2:30 PM., but the notary certificate and stamp on each page of the document showed that it was notarized on July 14, 2020.
According to the procedure within the Liberian jurisprudence in filing a legal document, the document must be notarized before it is submitted to any legal agency in the country.
Besides, the document revealed that it was signed by Aloysius Toe as Secretary General of the CPP while Senator Daniel Naathen approved the document as chairman of the CPP.
The anomaly points to the fact that Mr. Alexander B. Cummings was the chairman of the CPP during the filing of the document and not Sen. Naathen. Sen. Naathen has not serve as chairman of the CPP.
When the NEC boss was questioned about the irregularity of the document and the manner and form in which it was submitted to the NEC, madam Browne Lassanah answered,”I can not speak on what is before the Supreme Court.”
The prosecution also insisted that the document submitted to the court by the NEC boss was a photocopy but she responded as saying, “that is the exact copy submitted to the NEC.”
Furthermore, the prosecution questioned the veracity of the cover letter of the CPP Framework Document that it was an element of fraud because it did not carry the logos and letter head of the CPP.
But the NEC boss again, retorted in the negative not answering directly to the question asked by the prosecution.
Meanwhile, Cummings dressed in naval black trousers, a white, red and blue country cloth while sitting on the defendant’s bench was chewing gum repeatedly and looked tensed.
At the sametime, Aloysius Toe dressed in a black country cloth shirt was agitating with his defense counsel when the CPP Framework Document was finally admitted into evidence by the court.
He contended that his counsels should not have allowed the original document into evidence because the court had earlier marked a photocopy of the original document.
Moreover, at the closed of the trial, outside the courtroom, a group of Liberians jeered Mr. Alexander Cummings chanting “rogue, rogue.”
