Monrovia- April 27, 2022: On yesterday, April 26, 2022, The All Liberian Party issued a press statement to respond to the political leader of the Alternative National Congress, Alexander Cummings over statements he made on the Spoon Talk Show on Sunday, April 24, 2022. The ALP described the statements made by the ANC leader as lies and misinformation to have said that there were minor alterations.

Here is the full statement of the ALP below:

The Attention All-Liberian Party (ALP) has been drawn to the terrible lies and continuous misinformation spewed out deceptively by Mr. Cummings and the Alternative National Congress (ANC).

Mr. Cummings and the ANC are on record (Spoon TV and Facebook) for telling the public that there were minor alterations done to the Framework Document. Atty. Yafah Baikpai, a stalwart of the ANC and member of the CPP/ Framework Agreement Investigative Team disclosed that the alterations done by the ANC on the Framework were not harmful and benefit no one.

Fellow Liberians, who are those currently celebrating the NEC ruling against the ALP and the UP? Of course, the ANC and former Chairman of the Liberty Party are jubilating because they are benefactors and the depth of their alterations of ‘’no harm” is now displayed! This tells you, the Liberian people, how the criminal act orchestrated by Mr. Cummings continuously within the CPP has been well intentioned and calculated.

The ALP will not sit and allow Mr. Cummings to repeatedly deceive the public and purport himself as a saint. He is the most devious and conniving Liberian we have ever seen or known. Cummings himself, is a national crisis and a looming danger in the Liberian body politics! The Liberian people must be mindful and cautious about the character and conduct of this liar of a political leader in Cummings.

Fellow Liberians, why is it that Mr. Cummings has refused to give the original Framework Agreement (FA) and the dubious and faked FA he filed at NEC? Since the Monrovia City Court asked Cummings to have submitted the Original Framework signed on May 19, 2020 by Chairpersons and political leaders of All Liberian Party, Alternative National Congress, Liberty Party and Unity Party, he has refused and failed to do so. Even the original copy of the document dubiously filed at NEC, Cummings has so far not complied by submitting the original copy, as well.

Worst of it all, Cummings, in a letter to his Honor, Judge Jomah disclosed, under oath, that the photocopy of the purported FA filed with NEC is the original copy which he filed with the court. Said Cummings, the Framework Agreement submitted with the City Court, was signed by CPP Leaders on a date and place he did not name. A careful inspection of the document filed with the court again shows conflicting and differentiating features between the same purported document at NEC and same FA filed with the court.

For the record, beside the framework document signed on May 19, 2020, there was no other CPP framework document signed in the entire history of the CPP. When and where Cummings and his ANC did sign a framework document in July of 2020? Lying under oath is a crime and by Cummings’ letter to Judge Jomah, he has again added to his crimes.When Cummings challenges or denies this fact, we will publish the document.

The people of Liberia need to know that Mr. Cummings doesn’t just have a “lifestyle he struggles with”, but he is also an evil-liar. This is his trade and we wonder how many damages he has done that are being uncovered as we move on. He may lie and fool some people sometimes, but he will not fool all of the Liberian people all of the time.

During a one-to-one conversation held on Sunday’s evening, April 24, 2022, on the Spoon Tv platform between its Chief Executive Officer Mr. Stanton Witherspoon and Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings, Mr. Cummings made the following allegations against the ALP and its leader:

1. “That there were two weeks words of conversation that was extracted from the CPP-NAC chatroom and it is not in the court’s record.
2. That the ALP and the UP were aware of the clause in the Framework Document, (Cummings version Session 8.5) that no one leaves the CPP or if a political party were to leave, said party wouldn’t field a candidate until after 2023 general and presidential elections.
3. Cummings believes that they (ALP and UP) knew about it and they ran with it, but I think they thought it would have trapped me so I will not be allowed to run or field a candidate. Instead, they got trapped as it is seen at the NEC today. Those two-week’s words of conversation, will prove our innocence”.

The leadership of the ALP wants to make this emphatically clear that after a thorough investigative research and comparative analysis made between the National Advisory Committee members’ electronic gadgets and the chatroom conversation adduced in court by Mr. Cummings, we have realized and established the followings:

1. That the chatroom conversation spoken about by Mr. Cummings, didn’t exist in other members of the chatroom’s electronic devices except Cummings who provided such. In that chatroom, there were sixteen (16) members and out of that number, 85% (which constitutes the ALP NAC members, the UP NAC members and majority members of the LP) didn’t have record of said conversation! As such, the ALP terms such nefarious allegation by Mr. Cummings as fake, falsified and misleading. We challenge Mr. Cummings to prove this allegation in a court of competent jurisdiction. The conversation that Cummings’ camp claimed would have exonerated him was a product of yet another fraud. His lawyers, being aware of our determination to expose and probe the fraudulent nature of the self-made and manufactured information, the
   Cummings’ legal team proffered a motion to strike (remove from the records of the court) the so called “evidence that would exonerate Cummings’’! What a shame and embarrassment that was, for a team of competent lawyers to withdraw evidence they strongly believed was factual, compelling and grounded!
2. Furthermore, the Leadership of the All-Liberian Party wants to inform the public that at no time did its political Leader or Chairman sign an agreement with a provision of waiving the party’s right not to field a candidate if and when it withdrew from the CPP! As far as the ALP is concerned, after the May 19, 2020 signing ceremony, the public outcry on a clause misconstrued in the Framework document that talked about job distribution amongst CPP members, the leadership of the four political parties agreed to seek legal advice; (even though Cummings forwarded the framework document to select lawyers to review), make recommendation where applicable and return same to then Chairman Alexander Cummings, for onward transmission to various political leaders or parties. Parties were to peruse the lawyers’ input in the document, make changes where necessary and finally do rectification

and endorsement. We must note here that the lawyers wrote ten (10) recommendations separately and returned the document to Mr. Cummings. Two points #5 and #10 were indisposed of because the lawyers needed further information from the National Elections Commission (NEC) about its guidelines on the withdrawal of a member of a collaboration or alliance and the approval of the political leaders to agree to use consensus in choosing the vice-presidential candidate.

3. Whilst parties waited for final communication from the lawyers to complete the amendment, Mr. Cummings, without returning the originally signed May 19, 2020 Framework Document to his colleagues for review, amendments and approval, Mr. Cummings sinisterly notarized and filed another FA at NEC (without his colleagues’ approvals or endorsement), with the signature page of the May 19, 2020 illegally attached thereto. The singular reason why Mr. Cummings didn’t return the document to his colleagues, because he didn’t want them to have discovered the changes, they have made Nicodemusly that is benefitting them now.
4. As Mr. Cummings correctly referred to his action as a trap, we want the public to know that it was a trap setup by Cummings and his team of crooks intended for the entrapment and political web upon the other parties in the collaboration, as seen with the UP’s candidate Garlaikpa Kortimai of Lofa County.
   In conclusion, the ALP wants to make it unequivocally clear that this matter will be pursued in court unwaveringly and consistently until justice reigns for the people of Liberia.
   This, we pledge to do in the interest of our country and people.
