Monrovia- April 13, 2022: The office of the First Lady Madam Clar Marie Weah has disclosed that the first lady will be turning over a modern state-of-the-art vocational training center to Army wives at the Edward BM kesselee Barrack In shiefflin, Margibi County.
The official commissioning and turning-over ceremony of the facility will take place this Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
As part of her initiative, to address the many challenges women face in the country, the communication Director in the office of the First Lady Mr. Arthur Douglas disclosed that the project cost over a hundred thousand United States Dollars.

According to Mr. Douglas, The project is a contemporary facility that comprises the main building that has a modern classroom, meeting hall, hygienic restroom or washing room, and a reservoir.
Speaking to the media Thursday at MICAT special briefing on Capitol Hill
Mr. Douglas reveals that besides constructing the building, she (the First Lady) promise to not only build a decent Facility but provide essential equipment which will enhance and give practical hands-on knowledge to the woman and girls who will be acquiring basic life skills at the facility.
In fulfillment of that promise, her office provided a freezer, refrigerator, and a 15 KVA generator with several chairs and an electric oven.
“The new facility will provide comfort and broader space for women and girls in that part of the country. It will enable them to contribute to their families and be less vulnerable to sexual gender-based violence,” he said.
Mr. Douglas also said that two years ago, on February 14″ arm forces day the First Lady took it upon herself to reach the wife of Liberian soldiers and appreciate them for the support they have been given their husbands in defending the country.
During her visit, the army wife quickly took advantage of the opportunity to tell the First Lady their experience at the Barack.
He further mentioned that some of army Wives told the First Lady that some of them have skills and they want to teach the other women who are unskilled in Barrack. But the only public buildings in the area was been used by the public school. “so we have to wait for long hours before accessing the building to do their training.” He quote
Against this backdrop, he claims the First Lady quickly took up the initiative and told them that she would build them a modern facility that will enable them to carry out their training without further embarrassment.
Meanwhile, This initiative is in line with her SHES U movement, which was lunch in June 2019, aimed at improving the lives of women and children for a better and prosperous Liberia.
