Justice Forum Director Calls On Government To Renovate Belleh Yallah prison facility; Commends Min. Dean for the Dismissal of four Police officers

Monrovia- March 31, 2022: Justice Forum LIBERIA Executive Director, Ambassador Maxson Kpakio is commending the government through the Ministry of Justice for exhibiting high degree of constitutional mandate by dismissing four officers from their services within the Liberia National Police for misconduct.

It is noted that on Tuesday March 29, 2022; the Justice Minister of the Republic of Liberia Cllr. F. Musa Dean addressed the nation and named four officers including officer Humphrey Kahn, Sgt. George Wleh, Inspector Otis Williams, and the Deputy Chief of Police-ERU Commander, Amos William for various misconducts which were against the ethics and professional standard of the Liberia National Police.

Amb. Kpakio said that although the action taken by the government is belated, but such step will send a strong signal to those in authorities for providing security to their citizens will begin to value and respect them.

“it is unbelievable, unprofessional to see the very people who are trained to provide security to the citizens using excessive force every time leading to some being hospitalized”, Amb. Kpakio lamented.Meanwhile, the Executive Director is calling on President Weah to do more consultations, and prepare a resettlement package before releasing huge number of prisoners into the communities.

At the same time, the JFL chief is reiterating his call on the government to renovate the Belleh Yallah prison facility and prepare it for hard core criminals including rapists and murderers.
