Monrovia- March 23, 2022: The Plenary of the House of Representatives has voted to cite Liberia’s Education Minister Ansu Sonii to appear before full plenary next Tuesday, March 2,9, 2022 to address growing concerns and appalling learning environment within the education sector across the Country.
The House’s decision taken during the 19th day sitting followed a Communication from Nimba County District#6 Representative Dorwohn Twain Gleekia craving the indulgence of his Colleagues to invite the Minister of Education to address growing concerns and appalling learning environment within the education sector in the rural areas across the country ranging from inadequate teachers, lack of instructional materials, inadequate furniture (desks specifically), students sitting in dilapidated school structures, complaints from teachers regarding the decline in remuneration among others.

He explained in his communication that there is a decline in the numbers of school-going children and that pressure is being placed on them as the people’s deputy to provide services that are ought to be provided by the Ministry of Education.
