Monrovia- March 17, 2022: Today the U.S. Ambassador, Michael Mccarthy, turned over to the National Museum, historic photographs taken at Firestone after the second World War. During the ceremony, Ambassador McCarthy emphasized that “our partnership [U.S.-Liberia] is strong and continues to this day”.
He said the photographs he was presenting reflect the “special bond” both countries share. They are pictures of Liberian leaders and way of life from half a century ago.




“We are very proud of the special relationship between our two countries”, he said.
For his part, Information Minister Legendhood J. Rennie said the “photos go a long way in telling the history of Liberia”
He expressed “profound appreciation” to the American govt for the presentation, saying it coincides with the celebration of the country’s bicentennial anniversary.
The Minister stressed in his conclusion that ” good friends are good friends. Sometimes they do have their differences. But Liberia and the U.S remain strong in their relationship”.
