Education Minister meets with Lofa County Community College Aggrieved Instructors

March 9, 2022 Lofa County – Education Minister, Prof.D. Ansu Sonii, has met with aggrieved workers of the Lofa County Community College in Voinjama.

The impromptu meeting held on the Campuses of the College was geared to finding lasting solutions to recent protest staged by angry staff of the institution.

In a briefing, the aggrieved LCCC staff complaint about salary disperity and discrepancy being experienced over the years.

They also complaint about poor working relationship between faculty and administration.

According to the staff, the current administration of the Lofa County Community College has allegedly failed to improve conditions on the campus.

The aggrieved staff further alledged that the college’s president Dr. Samuel Ngaima has failed to institute measures for the betterment of the Institution.

Despite all these counts, the LCCC staffers were particularly concerned about their welfares and the immediate reinstatement of their suspended spokesperson Varney Addy.

According to them in the absence of handling these alarming situations normal academic activities will continue to be disrupted.

As a result of the continous disruptions on Campus, the Lofa County Community College is yet to have its graduation ceremony.

Speaking briefly, the College’s president Dr. Samuel Ngaima assured aggrieved staff of steady progress to address some of their concerns.

He said significant efforts have been made to address some of the key demands of the angry staff.

For his part Education Minister, prof.D. Ansu Sonii appealed to the aggrieved staff of the Lofa County Community College to submit the grades of the senior students to allow graduation.

Minister Sonii told the gathering that the Government is concerned about frequent disruption of academic activities of the College.

He’s hopeful that the current resolution will solve some of the outstanding issues at the Lofa County Community College.

The meeting was held as part of the Ministry of Education tour at the college and a bid to bring sanity to the College.
