Monrovia, March 8,2022: As Liberia today joins rest of the world to celebrate International Women’s Day, the Minister of Internal Affairs is calling on Liberians to salute Liberian women for their immense contribution to the survival of their families, communities and Country.

Honorable Varney A. Sirleaf says women must be celebrated at all times because of the singular role in human development.

He said in addition to their biological role, women continue to play significant roles in society; paying special tribute to women leaders and others, the Minister considers “changemakers”.

” These women changemakers are the driving forces in every sphere of life, be it in the public or public sector”. Minister Sirleaf emphasized.

The Internal Affairs Minister sends out special word of appreciation to all female employees of the Ministry, both at central and county levels.

“I am saluting all female employees working with MIA, be it senior staff, direcotrs, coordinators, cleaners, superintendents, Chiefs, Chairladies and community leaders. Happy International Women’s Day.

He is also wants increased support for Women.

In honor of the Day, Honorable Sirleaf also joined the female staff to wear the same outfit depicting the official colors purple and green.

Other members of the Ministry’s top Management, Deputy and Assistant Ministers, were seen with the same outfit.

The Staff also joined the national celebration which was held at the Ministerial complex in Congo Town.
