Monrovia- February 8, 2022: The Plenary of the Liberian Senate has voted unanimously to set up a nine (9) member committee dubbed “the Senate Committee of Inquiry” to investigate recent violent incidents carried out in Duala and New Kru Town.

The Senate’s decision was triggered, by concerns raised by Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon with respect to the alarming security threats linking in the Country, with specific ÷= .
In consultation with Senate Pro-Tempore, Albert T. Chie, the Presiding Officer, Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor named Senator Stephen A. J. H. Zargo as Chairman of the Inquiry Committee, while. Senators Abraham Darius Dillon, Varney G. Sherman, Conmany B. Wesseh, Augustine S. Chea, Numene T. H. Bartekwa, Prince K. Moye, Nyonblee K. Lawrence and Saah H. Joseph were named as members of the Committee.
Meanwhile, the Senate mandates the Committee to involve all relevant actors during the investigation and report findings within a month.
