Monrovia- January 18, 2022: The Ministry of Transport says, It has come to its attention that a group operating under the banner, ” Liberia Traffic Management” has printed and erected in and around Monrovia billboards purporting to be in the business of issuing driver’s licenses, vehicle registration and plates to the driving public.

The Ministry hereby announces to the public that it has no prior or official knowledge about the establishment and operations of the ” Liberia Traffic Management” in Liberia. Consistent with the Act creating the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry is the ONLY government’s entity clothed with the legal authority to render services relating to the issuance of driver’s licenses, vehicles registration, eligibility certificates and license plates as illegally claimed by the so- called” Liberia Traffic Management”.

“Let it also be made abundantly cleared that vehicle license plates and driver’s licenses are seriously security-related instruments of government and not meant for trade purposes.” The ministry stated.

Meanwhile, the ministry says, the public is hereby advised to avoid doing business with any illegally established group (s) to obtain driver’s licenses or vehicle license plates or other transport related documents outside the Ministry of Transport to avoid embarrassment during the conduct of the Ministry’s regular inspection exercises. The Ministry also informs the public that there are sufficient plates for delivery beginning January 2022.

Henceforth,all those concerned are asked to proceed to the Ministry of Transport and sternly advised to take due note and act accordingly.
