In 2021, House of Representatives Passes 54 Bills

Monrovia- December 29, 2021: The House of Representatives has passed the total of 54 bills during its 4th Sitting in 2021, which ran from Monday, January 11 to Tuesday, December 21.

The Director of Press and Public Affairs of the House of Representatives, Mr. Robert Haynes in an interview at a local radio station in Monrovia, announced that 31 bills were passed during REGULAR SESSION while during the SPECIAL SITTING, 23 bills were approved.

Mr. Haynes stated that during the SPECIAL SITTING, some of the key bill passed included the National Budget in the tune of US$786m, the amendment of the LACC act, to give the anti graft institution prosecutory power as well as the Dual Citizenship Bill which allows Liberians home And abroad to maintain their citizenship.

He emphasized that Legislators are working in the supreme interest of the Country.

Director Haynes concluded by acknowledging that due to the budget and other legislative instruments Lawmakers had to call themselves back for two months, which he added indicates their commitment to work diligently.
