Monrovia- December 3, 2021: One of the oldest schools in Gardnersville, the St. Philip’s Ecumenical high school has rescued hundreds of parents from paying high tuition or not sending their children to school this academic year due to the high economic situation in the country, with its tuition-free program, aimed at rebranding the institution.

The school which has declined in students enrollment for the past five years, due to some internal problems, has resurrected with a huge normal of students for this academic year, through its Free Tuition program as a way of rebranding the school to its previous status.
As a means of doing this, the administration of the school decided to offer free tuition, in which parents are only allowed to pay L$3,400 for first grade to sixth grade, from 7th to 9th grades, L$4,250 while parents pay 5,100 LD from 10th to 12th for the whole academic school years.
A long-time registrar of the school, Mr. Pitman Russell (Papie) told our reporter who toured the school, that it was the best way of reawakening the spirit of the school after years of being down. He, therefore, called on Prominent sons of Gardnersville, Alumni, former students, and the general public to come to the aid of the school.

Mr. Russell said due to the huge influx of students in the school this academic year from their free tuition program, they are appealing to the public for support.
Mr. Russell further mentioned that the school is short of chairs, textbooks, computers and even said some parts of the school building needs renovation like painting, and roofing.” We also want to encourage people and organizations that are involved in scholarships to send students to us. Think about whatever you can add up, we will appreciate it, ” he said.

St. Philip Ecumenical High School is one of Gardnersville’s elite schools, which has educated lots of prominent people in the Society like Hon. Gabriel Nyenka, Advisor to the President on communication, his brother

According to our reporter, the school is jam-packed with students fighting for seats to sit down in class. He said even the space for devotion outside is small for the students. “I think it’s time that the government helps the school( St. Philip Ecumenical High School ) they are actually helping lots of parents with their free tuition program in Gardnersville and its environs from the look of things, that I saw on the campus, ” our reporter narrated.
