Monrovia- October 26, 2021: The Ministry of Education wishes to announce to all public school Administrators across the country and the public, that the Ministry has not instituted or given authority to any insurance group to charge students for medical insurance coverage in public schools.
The Ministry in a release warns against any unauthorized insurance fees imposed on students by school Administrators.
Henceforth, the issue of medical insurance falls in the domain of parents and it is optional

The Ministry calls on parents to be mindful as information circulating regarding COMPULSORY insurance payment is misleading, misguided, misinformed, and has the proclivity to undermine the recommencement of Academic year 2021/2022.
Meanwhile, these are the approved registration fees from the ministry of Education:
- Elementary Division (grades 1 – 6) US$ 5.00 or its equivalent in LD
- Junior High Division (Grades 7- 9)US$ 10.00 or its equivalent in LD
3.Senior High Division ( Grades 10 -12) US$ 15.00 or its equivalent in LD
However, school Authorities are encouraged to be moderate and work closely with parents who might not afford the registration fees for their children in time.
This announcement should claim the attention of all county Education officers, District Education Officers and public school principals.
