Monrovia-October 20,2021: The National Insurance Corporation of Liberia (NICOL) has formally written the House of Representatives for cooperation to effect insurance on employees of the Government of Liberia.
In a NICOL’s Communication to House’s Chief Clerk Mildred Sayon under the signature of Acting Managing Director Sam Mannah, was read in Tuesday Session, the 1st day sitting of the Special Session of the House of Representatives, the 54th Legislature.
“Honorable Clerk, pursuant to Section lll (a) of the Act establishing the National Insurance Corporation of Liberia, NICOL – PRC DEGREE 84a, I wish to bring to your attention and once again solicit your kind cooperation in adhering to our statutory mandate as enhrined in Section III (a) of the PRC DEGREE 84a,” Mr. Mannah stated.
Mr. Mannah argued that NICOL has the core mandate to insure all Government’s assets as well as given additional right to underwrite any Insurance Business in open & fair competition with other insurers.
Following a motion from Sìnoe County District #3 Representative Matthew Zarzar which was unanimously voted in favor of, the NICOL’s communication was forwarded to the Committees on State Enterprises, Judiciary and Bank & Currency to report within two weeks.
