Liberian Government To Hire Three International Firms For Image Branding and Professional Lobbying

Monrovia- September 10, 2021: Since the presidency of  President George M. Weah, his government has been making frantic diplomatic and political efforts aimed at heightening the relationship between Liberia and the United States of America. The Liberian Government is also seeking ways in which it can brand its image internationally.

Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie, has disclosed that the Government of Liberia (GOL) has entered a professional lobbying and strategic communications module with three U.S. based high – profile firms to work with the Liberian Government to calibrate and recalibrate the already diplomatic ties subsisting the U.S. and Liberia.

The Minister of Information, Culture Affairs and Tourism, Ledgerhood Julius Rennie made the disclosure on Thursday, September 10, 2021, at the ministry regular press briefing in Monrovia. He said Government has secured the services of Ice Miller LLP, a renown U.S based Law firm with over 100 years of experience and expertise in representing various clients world – wide.

He emphasized that ICE MILLER LLP has represented clients covering wide range of issues from law, business, lobbying and other fields in the U.S.

Min. Rennie said under the arrangement, Mr. Jarrod Load-holt, a lawyer, an economist and Harvard University trained public affairs administrator based in Washington, will lead the country’s political lobbying front.

Mr. Load- holt’s role, according to Min. Rennie, will ensure to provide a positive image of the country and government to the Biden – Harris’ Administration, the U.S. Congress, key U.S. federal Agencies and U.S. based multilateral organizations that have interests and stakes in Liberia’s economic and national security matters.

Additionally, Min. Rennie averred that Strom Public Affairs LLC, will lead the country’s Strategy Communications effort with the U.S.
He said Strom Public Affairs LLC area of interest is developing and executing a U.S media and press engagement strategy for Liberia, President Weah in particular, and key Liberian government Officials.

Min. Rennie said government’s goal is to raise Liberia’s profile in the U.S. Media, thereby bringing a positive attention to Liberia with U.S Policy Makers as well as of African American audiences.

At the same the MICAT boss has named renowned former CNN’s Political Commentator and Politician, Attorney Bakari Sellers as lead lobbyist for government strategic communications in the U.S.

The Government spokesman asserted that in a bid to rebranding Liberia through the effective use of tools of multimedia, it has hired the services well-known U.S Carbon Thread Agency, LLC.

Information Minister Rennie said Mr. Brian Fitch is serving as focal person in ensuring Liberia’s digital marketing and rebranding efforts.

According to him, Mr. Brian Fitch will craft a comprehension brand, digital and creative plan for Liberia, President Weah in particular, the Bicentennial and the county’s pristine tourism attractions.

Additionally, US Carbon Thread Agency, LLC will create a clearer picture of the country’s rich culture heritage with a focus on elevating the country’s profile.

Min. Rennie said the move by government is necessary and timely because the U.S. is the epicenter of world politics and power.

He decried negative propaganda from some Liberians directed at Washington in damaging the country’s image.

However, Min. Rennie said the current move by the Government will not undo the functions of Liberia’s diplomatic mission in the U.S.

He said the move will rather buttress the mission diplomatic role in the U.S adding, the teams will work in consultation from mandates coming out of Monrovia.
