Monrovia- August 31, 2021: Today at a special MICAT press conference, government of Liberia announced the autopsy report of the late truck driver, Alieu Sheriff in Gardnersville.
The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) has ordered the re-arrest of three officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) for allegedly murdering Alli Sheriff, a local vehicle driver who died during a row between him and the officers on July 29, 2021 at the National Transit Authority (NTA) bus parking in Gardnerville.

Cllr. Nyenati Tuan, Deputy Minister for Codification at the MOJ made the statement on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the Ministry of Information, Culture Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) during a special press conference.
Deputy Minister Tuan disclosed that an autopsy on the deceased conducted by the government established that the cause of death is unnatural due to blunt force injury to the back of the head of the late Alli Sheriff.
“The autopsy report has established that the cause of the death is unnatural due to blunt force to the back of the head,” Cllr. Tuan said. “ Coupled with a preliminary investigative report, we hereby order the Inspector General of Police to immediately re-arrest the officers,” Min. Tuan asserted.
According to minister Tuan, when the officers responded to the NTA yard, the officers saw the late Sheriff lying on the ground unconscious, and based on the condition of the victim, he was rushed at the John F. Kennedy hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The MOJ said officers Samuel N. Borbor, Harris Monger and Alexander Seakour are liable for the death of Alli Sheriff, and has immediately called on the LNP to incarcerate the three officers within the statutory period of 48 hours and subsequently forward them to court for prosecution.
The MOJ minister recalled that on July 29, 2021, information received from Zone Four police depot revealed that at 3:12 P.M, patrol officers from Zone Four were called to respond at the NTA bus parking yard along the Japan Freeway to bring a situation under control.
Accordingly, Cllr. Tuan intimated that due to the circumstance concerning the officers that were involved in the row with the late Sheriff, the officers were arrested and a preliminary investigation was conducted and the officers were kept in detention in keeping with the statuary period of 48 hours.
However, the deputy minister continued: “Consistent with Article 21(F) of the Liberian Constitution of 1986, the alleged suspects were released in keeping with Constitution and Human Rights best standards to individuals having moral influence over them and to appear when requested.
Furthermore, LNP Deputy Inspector General for Crime Services, Prince Mulbah assured that the officers were immediately re- arrested after receipt of the autopsy report and will be charged within the statutory period and forwarded to court.
Hon. Prince Mulbah said the LNP will cooperate with the MOJ and ensures that justice is served.
However, the deputy police boss caution that the investigation indicting the LNP’s officers is not deliberate or influenced by external forces but is intended to erect what he called “check point “ order to deter the reoccurrence of such barbaric conduct.
“The Government of Liberia is working hard to ensure that Liberia is a better place to live,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Amara A. Fofana, a member of the deceased family expressed joy over the report presented by the government and called for speedy trial of the officers so as to lay the matter to rest.
“This is not the matter of satisfaction but that the law takes its course,” Mr. Fofana said. He said, “Let them be forwarded to court, to have their day in court without delay,”
