Monrovia- July 19, 2021: The Managing Director of the National Port Authority Hon. Bill Twehway has desribed as a tragedy and unfortunate situation involving the Niko Ivanko vessel that went distressed few days ago off the coast not Marshall and Little Buchanan.

The NPA boss made the brief remarks on Monday Morning, July 19, 2021 at a News Conference held at the Headquarters of the Liberia Martitime Authority when he joined other high ranking government officials including LiMA boss Lenn Eugene Nagbe and the Chief of Staffs of the Armed Forces of Liberia, General Prince C. Johnson III.
Hon. Twehway urged the public to remain calm as the focus of the the National Search and Rescue Coordination is to ensure that those who are missing are first recovered before Investigation regarding circumstances leading to the sinking of the vessel can be prioritized.
He however assured media entities at the conference and the general public that a full scale Investigation will be launched and those found culpable will be dealt with according to the laws.
