Monrovia- July 13, 2021: The Movement for Islamic Holidays in Liberia has welcomed with delight the readjustment of the 6th graders examination that was to be administered on Tuesday July 20, 2021, to Monday July 19, 2021.
The Movement in a press release, lauds the government of Liberia through the leaderships of WAEC-Liberia and the Ministry of Education for acknowledging the plights of the hundreds of Muslim students across the country for once.
The Movement at the same time appreciates the efforts of all collaborating institutions, young Muslim activates & others for standing tall against this age-old violation of the rights of Liberian Muslim students.
In the same light, the Movement for Islamic Holidays in Liberia call on members of the Liberian Senate to do the most honorable thing in passing the bills creating End of Ramadan and Abraham Day as national holidays as proposed by Senator Edwin Melvin Snow of Bomi County.

The Movement strongly believed that the legislation of those two festivals will prevent the Ministry of Education and WAEC-Liberia from further embarrassing situation, and will also prevent the hundreds of Muslim students and public sector employees from the usual dilemma faced on occasions marking the celebration of those very important religious events.
The release which was signed by its Secretary and president, Mr. Abrahim K. Zoekai and Mr. Ayoubah G. Dauda Swara, said they remained steadfast in ensuring the right of every Liberian is protected and respected as guaranteed by the constitution of Liberia.
Meanwhile, the Movement for Islamic Holidays finally calls on the Ministry of Education to take lesson from this situation and make the appropriate adjustment in the academic calendar for next school year.
