Evelyn’s Restaurant Clarifies; Says Its Proprietress Didn’t Die From COVID-19

Monrovia-July 6, 2021: On Monday evening, the 5th of July, social media especially Facebook was flooded with posts of the death news of the Proprietress, Executive Chef and Founder of Evelyn’s Restaurant, Madam Hawa Ellen Knuckles.

Most people who posted the death news of madam knuckles speculated that the she died from COVID-19 which is on an increase and killing people in the country.

But in a statement issued on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, the management of the restaurant said:

“The Knuckles Family and  sincerely regret to announce the passing of Madam Hawa-Ellen Knuckles.

Hawa-Ellen passed away on Monday, July 5th, 2021 due to kidney failure at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Hospital.

As a sign of respect for the  Proprietress, Executive Chef and Founder of Evelyn’s Restaurant, Evelyn’s will be closed for the remainder of this week, and will reopen on Monday, July 12th.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

This announcement was sent in by Willis (Marie) & Ethel Knuckles, brother and sister of the deceased.” The release from Evelyn’s Restaurant mentioned.
