Monrovia- June 16, 2021: A day after several Bishops and Apostles representing the church of Liberia petitioned the National Legislature, expressing opposition to the endorsement of religious holidays in the Country, the Spokesperson for the group calling for Muslims Holiday in Liberia, Ayouba G Dauda Swaray has reacted to the call coming from the clergymen, saying that the Christian religious leaders are not against Ester Monday becoming national holiday but don’t want to see the end OF RAMADAN And ABRAHAM DAY being observed as national holiday.
“The hypocrisy/hate is just too much in this small country.” Mr. Swaray said

It can recalled on Tuesday several clergymen petitioned the Legislature to not give credence to calls for the creation of religious holidays in Liberia.
The head of the high level delegation in the office of the Senate Pro-temp Albert Chie, Bishop Isaac Winker described Senator Snowe bills as inimical and products of religious crisis. He further stated that the church of Liberia believes Snowe’s Bill is not in the interest of peace
But the spokesman for the group calling for Muslims Holiday, Ayouba G. Dauda Swaray said, if the legislature fails to legislate Muslims Holiday holidays, the Supreme Court will decide if Christmas and Fast and Prayer Day are “non religious holidays” and legislators and schools will never take Ester break in this country again.
“Liberia belongs to all and all must be treated equal!!!” He mentioned.
