Harper, Maryland County- June 13, 2021: The William VS. Tubman University in Harper City, Maryland County has hosted it’s 8th commencement and convocation exercises today. The program, which was a very colorful and blissful one started at about 10:40 am with a grand procession, followed by a formal ceremony held at the university’s main auditorium situated on the main campus.
Leaving the walls of the university were scores of mainly young men and women from a number of disciplines to include the Chemistry, Psychology, Education, Engineering, Public Administration and Guidance and Counseling amongst others.
Speaking at the convocation ceremony were the Director oIjf Maritime Affairs at the Liberia Maritime Authority, Hon. Lenn Eugene Nagbe, keynote speaker and Ambassador Ren Yisheng, of the Peoples Republic of China.
The keynote speaker for the day challenged and charged the graduates to utilize their education acquired to transform society and be exemplary in quest to transform society. Hon. Nagbe also noted that the government needs to do more in order to ensure that Tubman University becomes the best in the region, citing that inadequate budgetary support had always been a manor challenge at the institution.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency, Mr. Ten Yisheng, specaking via a pre-recorded video podcast expressed optimism that the education acquired by the graduates will be used to geatly impact and changed their societies and the world around them. He urged the graduates to best in mind that interactive collaborationon with those whom they will meet out in society as they endeavor to make an impact will be very vital in ensuring they succeed in their future aspirations.
The Chinese diplomat also outlined the manor gains that his government has made so far in fostering a vibrant coexistance and bilateral relations between the two nations, especially in the areas infrastructure and education.

The ceremony which started on with a nice weather was attended by a sizable crowd of onlookers, well-wishers, friends, parents and guardians and relatives who had converged to witness the graduation of their loved ones despite the heavy downpour of rain which later ensued.
