Deputy Information Minister Eugene Fahngon Says Costa Poses No Threat To Government

Monrovia- June 2, 2021: Deputy Information Minister for Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Minister Eugene L. Fahngon has said fugitive talk show hosts Henry P. Costa, who is residing in the United States of America poses no threat to President George M. Weah led government.

Speaking to journalists on Monday May 31, 2021 at the Ministry regular press briefing, Minister Fahngon said despite Costa has not been orderly in presenting his radio Talk show in the past years and to present, that could plunge the nation into chaos.

Minister Fahngon mentioned that the Liberia government recently cautioned Sky Fm and D-15 FM for allowing fugitive Costa to misuse their various airways to throw insult at government Officials who are tirelessly working to bring progress to the country.

The Deputy MICAT boss said Costa is running away from justice and he needs to come back to Liberia to face justice for wrongly accusing President George M. Weah led government on for corruption among other without facts.

Minister Fahngon noted that Costa used the airways to throw insult at prominent citizens in the country by damaging their hard earned character while in the USA.

Meanwhile, Hon. Fahngon has said the government will not condone the usages of the airways in Liberia to convey negative information because it has the propensity to plunge the nation into trouble.

According to him, Costa did that in Liberia and ran away from the country to United States (USA) without due process of law given to those citizens he harmed and the government needs him back to face justice.

At the same time, the Deputy MICAT j added that due to Henry P. Costa indecent behavior on air, the government recently issued a statement to foreign partners, Ministry of Justice, Legislature, and Press Union of Liberia (PUL) to probe into the matter for his misconduct in providing misleading information on air that could scare investors and foreign Partners to leave the country.

In a related development, Minister Fahngon noted that there is an ongoing investigation in the late Executive Mansion Protection Service Officers(EPS) Mervin Earley who allegedly committed suicide during President George M. Weah Presidential counties tour on the fatefulday of Friday February 19, 2021 while on national duty in Tappita Nimba County.

He urged the public to keep calm and after the entire investigation the government will provide report to the public concerning the deaths of Officer Melvin Earley.

Minister Fahngon said that government cannot jump into the investigation despite citizens are requesting for the report on the deaths of the EPS Officer Earley.

He further noted that if government jump into the investigation it will help jeopardize the investigation.
