In Paynesville, LNP Guns Down Five Notorious Armed Robbers

Monrovia- On early Thursday Morning May 20, 2021, The Liberia National Police gunned down Five notorious armed rubbers in the commercial district of Redlight in Paynesville while trying to burst into stores.

Speaking to jouranlists at the site of the incident scene in Paynesville, Police Inspector General, Patrick Sudue, said the LNP Anti Robbery Unit was alarmed by residents of the community that the robbers had attacked a store in the area.

According to Col. Sudue, the robbers opened fire at the LNP officers who had gone to drive them away, something that led the under attack officers to return fire, thereby killing five of the robbers.

The police inspector general made reemphasized that the LNP will not rest with its regular night patrol in various communities as the rainy season continues.

Col. Sudue also stressed the importance of citizens – police coordination in dealing with robbery and all forms of crime in the Country.

He encouraged citizens to always report violent situations in their various communities to the Liberia National Police in order to ensure adherence to the rule of law.
