The National Legislature have Endorsed the Printing Of Over 48 Billion New Liberian Dollars Banknotes

Monrovia-May 7, 2021: Members of the 54th Legislature at long last, have unanimously endorsed a conference committee report which recommends the printing of over 48 billion new family of Liberian dollars banknotes

It can be recalled, the House of Representatives and the Liberian Senate constituted a conference committee to condense the separate report from both houses as a one legislative instrument giving authorization to the CBL on its request to print new family of banknotes.

But, in a joint report read before the Liberian Senate on Thursday by Senate Secretary Naborlor Singbe, the new family of banknotes, including one thousand
(1,000) bill, will be printed over the period of three years.

The Joint Conference Committee report of the Legislature also issued a mandate that there be no money printed in 2023, because the country is heading for general elections.
