Ganta, Nimba County- May 7, 2021: Layee Zayzay, the man who was arrested on Wednesday May 5, 2021 in Ganta, Nimba County at the Liberian-Guinean border with twenty (20) packs of fire arms and five (5) packs of rounds while crossing to Liberia from Guinea has said to Reporters in the county that he was transporting the fire arms and rounds to River Cess County for business purposes.
Suspect Layee clarified that he was encouraged by friends in River Cess County at a gold mine to take fire arms and rounds there for business purposes.
He told journalists that it was his first time transacting such business since fire gutted his home in River Cess sometimes ago.
Meanwhile, Layee Zayzay been forwarded to Monrovia on the request of Police Inspector General, Col. Patrick Sudue for further questioning.
At the same time, the man who is claiming to be the owner of disputed land in Ganta, Fred Suah has called on Justice Minister, Frank Musa Dean to order a search warrant in Ganta.
He is urging authorities to thoroughly search tea shops, garages and homes.
