Monrovia-April 29, 2021: This is a special commentary title: Is President Weah’s King’s Fm Abandoned Under his administration?

King’s Fm, a radio station in Monrovia that is owned by president Weah, seems to be dying gradually due to electricity under his administration. King’s Fm which was one of the well listened to radio station in Liberia, by many in the opposition during the regime of former president Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf because of its stand against the former government in reporting ills in the country has been off the air for days now.

King’s Fm greatly help President Weah excelled to the presidency in 2017. But the station seems to be abandoned Under the administration of president Weah, who is the chief executive officer of the station.

The station present structure and equipments don’t look like a president radio station. According to a high placed source at the station, the station runs on a transmitter that’s less than 1000 watt and outdated.

It saddens people especially some CDCIANS to know that their president radio station is dying gradually under his CDC administration.

The condition of the station, has got many people including us at Monrovia Latest News to wonder, why will a president radio station be crying for electricity and logistics? You all can remember how Kiss Fm, Truth Fm and even Prime Fm were supported during the regime of Charles Taylor and madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf so what’s wrong with King’s Fm that it can be supported.

Is President Weah afraid to spend his money on his station before people say he is using the country money on private business? Is he being informed about the station status? Is he having problem with the management team at King’s Fm? Or President Weah has achieved what the radio station was founded for? These questions are the questions some people have in mind.

As for us, we believed that if nothing is done to change things at the station, that is being loved by most CDCIANS it may cause serious problem to President Weah second term.

King’s Fm is presently the low rating radio station in Monrovia, the station doesn’t have a strong signal to cover Sinkor or even Pynesville; The building the station is occupying doesn’t even looked descent from the outside.

The station has a owned problem but it all directs from its managerial heads, which we think need to be changed. With our investigations, we have gathered that everyone at the station does his/ her owned thing due to the poor management.

It is so laughable for a president radio station to be on and off for days due to electricity.

President Weah, we call on you to see the need to rebrand King’s Fm with the necessary equipments and employees or else Mr. President, your station will die from the airwaves.
