The Liberia National Police says it attention has been drawn to a video footage widely circulating on social media in which one of Its officers, along with a traffic Inspector at the Ministry of transport were seen physically assaulting a vehicle operator during the early morning hours of Thursday, April 8, 2021 on the Tubman Boulevard.
According to the LNP, the public is assured that the Professional Standard Division is carrying on an investigation to establish culpability with appropriate administrative or criminal investigative actions taken as deterrence to would-be violators of the rule of law.
In a release issued Thursday, April 8 the LNP noted that thehe family of the vehicle operator has already made contact with the LNP and have been assured of appropriate actions taken in line with the rule of law.
They further called on Members of the public to remain very vigilant in reporting any officers’ misconduct, as the administration of Hon. Patrick Sudue will ensure appropriate disciplinary actions taken to discourage wanton abuse of citizens’ rights.
