President Weah Imposed Curfew Throughout Maryland County Beginning April 1, 2021

Monrovia- March 31,2021: The President of the Republic of Liberia, George Weah has imposed a curfew throughout Maryland County from tomorrow, April 1, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

The curfew according to the President will be enforced by the LNP who will be supported by Joint Security Forces across the County.
This came after residents of both Harper and Pleebo cities toke to the streets to protest the grousome murder of a young man.

President Weah has expressed his concerns over the situation and asked citizens to remain calm and allow authorities work in bringing the perpetrators of the crime to book. Although a suspect was apprehended by the LNP and incarcerated pending subsequent investigation in accordance with the law.

The President has assured the people of Maryland that this recent killing has claimed the urgent attention of the Government, and that the case is being thoroughly investigated, and the perpetrators will face the full weight of the law.

The Liberian Leader has admonished residents of Maryland County not to take the law into their own hands. He cautioned citizens to remain calm, peaceful and allow the law to take its course. The President asked citizens to channel their grievances through the legal process and avoid damaging public buildings including private properties.
